It's amazing to hear so many passionate stories of his love of The Jam (thanks Aunt Liz!) - it's an out-pouring of emotions, memories and envy inducing tales from a master story-teller!
As one of the regular presenters of Front Row - the Radio 4 arts programme, John specialised in music-related interviews for the programme with the likes of Ray Davies, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Elton John and Kate Bush - whilst also interviewing Paul Weller on many occasions on the show.
In 2007, he worked with Paul to create the book Suburban 100 - which saw Paul share his reflections on his lyrics, offering candid insights to his writing process and the inspiration behind some of pop music's best loved songs. 
In 2012 - Paul Weller guested on his Radio 4 Music Programme Mastertapes - discussing a career-defining album in front of a live audience (Paul selected The Gift) which also featured a previous podcast guest (Teenage Waitress - Daniel J Ash)
In recent years, Paul has been a guest on John's 'These Three Songs' Podcast and John has returned the favour by interviewing him for the Making of True Meanings Documentary.
