This weeks episode is with celebrated director Sarah Gavron who not only won a BAFTA for her first feature but worked with some acting greats including Meryl Streep and Carey Mulligan on Suffragette but with first timers on her latest feature Rocks.
Learn how Sarah cast, collaborated and directed the amazing kids in Rocks, how she worked with Meryl Streep and Carey Mulligan and how she preps before a shoot and how she made her first feature This Little Life. She also gives advice to her younger self and some incredible and honest thoughts on how to make feature films.
We dive into Sarah’s career from her start making documentaries before going to the National film school to inspiring female filmmakers and leading the charge for women just like in her film Suffragette. We also talk about her films This Little Life, Brick Lane, Village at the end of the World, Suffragette and of course Rocks which is released in the UK on 18th September
