It's called "As Long As I'm Flyin'". You have until May 18, 2017 to make a pledge if you want a physical CD. After that go to FireflyDrinkingSongs.com. I started compiling this episode at the beginning of 2017. I planned to use it as a platform to share my anger and frustration with the Trump administration's assault on civil rights, health care and the environment. But I decided not to. Overall, that's not what I do musically. Instead, I'll let the songs speak for themselves. Politics is a huge part of Celtic culture. I heard a quote by Irish songwriter Frank Harte on the Irish Music Stories podcast (episode 2) that said, "Those in power write the history. Those who suffer write the songs." For that reason, many of the best traditional Irish songs are rebel songs. They are the songs of people who suffer. When I started playing rebel songs with the Brobdingnagian Bards, we played them, not for the politics, but because they were powerful songs. This show is dedicated to rebel songs in general. The first half has some more traditional rebel songs. The second half are the not-so-traditional ones. And I promise to leave my politics out of any discussion. Pub Talk Celtfather Tuesdays. You might notice that this show came out on Tuesdays. I'm trying to better manage my content. I put out the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast on Thursdays.
