Description

Despite taking a deep dive into the four main 'arcs' of Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995), there are still many more elements to analyse! One key part of the anime I haven't discussed in detail is the approach of the director, Hideaki Anno. In this episode, I discuss my highlights & key takeaways from Anno's June 1996 Newtype Interview. I talk about the contradictions that exist at the very start of the anime, flexibility in representing characters, how Evangelion mimics human behavior & more.
