he Disney-produced Star Wars sequels had a great start with the smash box-office success of J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens in 2015, then the wildly divisive follow-up The Last Jedi - written and directed by Rian Johnson - a couple year later. However, it all crashed and burned with universally maligned The Rise of Skywalker in 2019, directed again by TFA's J.J. Abrams.But did it have to be that way? As many fans know, filmmaker Colin Trevorrow was hired to co-write and direct STAR WARS EPISODE 9 at the same time the Abrams and Johnson were hired to direct their respective films. However, obviously things didn't go to plan. So what did Trevorrow's Episode IX look like? Would it have been an improvement on Abrams' failure?
