Description
Feminist Question Time Australia/New Zealand
Women's Human Rights Campaign (WHRC) Feminist Question Time is our weekly online webinars. It is attended by a global feminist and activist audience of between 200-300. The main focus is how gender ideology is harming the rights of women and girls. You can see recordings of previous panels on our YouTube Channel.
This week’s speakers:
Linda Blade is a former National Champion of Canada in track & field (heptathlon) with a PhD in Kinesiology. For the past 26 years, she has run a private consulting business as “Sport Performance Professional” coach in Edmonton, Alberta working with athletes in over 15 sports (beginner to elite). Since 2014, Linda has also served as President of the Board for Athletics Alberta, where she has a duty to represent the province of Alberta at Canadian national sport policy meetings. In a bid to increase public awareness of the threat posed by gender ideology, Linda has partnered with journalist Barbara Kay to author a new book, titled: UNSPORTING: How Trans Activism and Science Denial are Destroying Sport.
Note: It is acknowledged by those who live and work in Edmonton, Alberta that we reside on Treaty Six Land, the traditional territories of the Cree, Dene, Stoney, Saulteaux, and Blackfoot First Nations.
Ro Edge is the New Zealand Spokeswoman for Save Women Sports Australasia. Ro is a women’s rights advocate who comes from a sports loving family, so she has a special interest in ensuring girls and women retain their pathways to achieving sporting excellence. Ro’s daughter studied under a university sporting scholarship in the USA, and her niece represented New Zealand at the Tokyo Olympic Games, so she has a passion for ensuring fairness and safety for women in sport.
Katherine Deves is an Australian lawyer, cofounder and spokeswoman for Save Women’s Sport Australasia. SWS is part of an international coalition of women athletes and their supporters that fight against identity inclusion policies and legislation that give men and boys access to female sports competitions. When she is not taking her three daughters to their numerous sporting activities, she speaks and writes publicly against gender identity ideology (Www.savewomenssport.com and www.katherinedeves.com.au)
