On Nov. 21, 1950, two trains collided in the mountains of northeastern BC. The crash would kill 21 soldiers on their way to Korea. When the trial of the telegraph operator began, he was represented by John Diefenbaker. This trial would raise profile, eventually helping him become Prime Minister in 1957.
