Description

Welcome to Celestial Sex, hosted by Chris Duce, where we have frank conversations about sex and religion. In this episode, we speak with Kaisha Medford, the current president of Provo Pride- an LGBTQIA organization that hosts the annual Provo Pride parade as well as other LGBTQIA activities in Provo, UT and the surrounding area. We discuss the recent Freedom Festival in Provo and the attempted exclusion of queer organizations in their parade on the 4th of July. Discrimination against queer folks is unfortunately alive and well in Provo, and we wanted to shine a light on how they are overcoming these roadblocks.  You can follow Kaisha's work with Provo Pride on Twitter @provopride and donate on their website at provopride.org You can follow Celestial Sex on Twitter and Instagram @celestialsexpod or on Facebook at facebook.com/celestialsex You can also donate to our show on Patreon at patreon.com/celestialsex

Celestial Sex, hosted by Chris Duce and produced by Colin Hatch, is an interview series about love and sex through the lens of Mormon upbringing. Our conversations dive into the confusing nature of growing up in Mormonism where sexuality is taught as something that's beautiful and sacred, but can only be explored after you're married- usually very quickly in between the temple sealing and the reception in the back of an '88 Mercury Tracer. Recorded in Los Angeles, we speak with post-mormons, ex-mormons, jacked-mormons, and active mormons alike about their parents' timid explanations of where babies come from, awkward bishop interviews that mostly focus on masturbation, first sexual experiences, current outlook on sex, and more.
