Description
Taylor Payne hosts your go-to Newcastle United podcast from The Athletic with club correspondent Chris Waugh, Senior Writer George Caulkin, and special guest Oli Kay.
Moments before our podcast recording (hooray!), Eddie Howe was announced as the new Head Coach and he has a gargantuan task ahead of him if he's to steer the team clear of relegation. The Athletic's Senior Football Writer Oli Kay has written about Howe's career so far and he provides us with the inside track on this exciting appointment.
Elsewhere in the club, appointments have yet to be confirmed, not least the position of Sporting Director (or similar). We've an update on that and a review of the Brighton game which, while far from pretty, did see us win at least a point (well, exactly a point).

Those Champions League Nights With Sir Bobby: On the week of Sir Bobby Robson's birthday, George Caulkin, Chris Waugh & Taylor Payne remember the Newcastle team he took to the Champions League knock-out stages and George shares memories of spending time with the great man. Turns out people who think Allan Saint-Maximin should play through the middle make Chris really, really angry, and the lads ponder what exactly Nabil Bentaleb role is in the side. There is an obligatory look back on a terrible result in London last weekend and hope for more luck in the capital this weekend against another side that are also "much of a muchness"... by Pod On The Tyne - A show about Newcastle United
