Description

Cardiac power output is a calculation one should do when caring for patients with cardiogenic shock. Data has shown it to be the strongest hemodynamic correlate of mortality in cardiogenic shock. We should be using it in our practice to determine whether a patient will benefit from mechanical circulatory support (MCS).
