Michael Behe, PhD, author, and professor of biochemistry at Lehigh University, shares with us his findings after 20 plus years researching the evolution of complex biological systems. Once a believer in Darwin’s theory of evolution, Behe now argues that rather than random changes filtered by natural selection, most of life’s major features are overwhelmingly purposely designed by an intelligent agent. Behe acknowledges that this is not necessarily a popular view in the world of science, where the culture seems to suggest that if you doubt Darwin’s evolution then you are either dumb or blinded by religion. However, Behe has found that while it is clear that Darwin’s mechanisms explain some of life’s characteristics, they do not explain all of them. Upon researching Darwinism more deeply, he found that it appears the theory is held in high regard not because of solid supporting evidence, but because it is the best and most acceptable one thus far.  Press play to hear more about his findings, including specific examples.
