Dr. Martin Giera is an associate professor at Leiden University researching clinical metabolomics, the study of metabolites and how they take part in biochemical processes. Ultimately, the goal is to gain a deeper understanding of human physiology and the physiological processes of specific diseases, which could open the door to novel treatments and diagnostic processes for cancer and other diseases which we don’t currently understand.
