Description

On today’s episode, Jason kicks things off with a few thoughts on Kyrie Irving’s 60-point barrage on Tuesday night against the Orlando Magic. In the last week, Kyrie has scored 60, scored 50… and got the Brooklyn Nets front office fined $50,000 for flouting the New York City vaccine mandate. Such is life in Kyrie’s World these days. It almost feels as though Irving is hoping that if he generates enough headlines – good or bad – it will pressure the NYC mayor into lifting the mandate. Moving over to the NFL, it’s becoming apparent that Baker Mayfield’s days are numbered as the quarterback of the Cleveland Browns. We found out earlier in the day that the team was recruiting Deshaun Watson, and then Mayfield seemed to write his own death certificate with a de facto ‘goodbye’ letter later that night. Baker has been mostly mediocre in the NFL so it's no surprise that the team would look to upgrade, but you'd hope that Mayfield would have learned by now that running to social media rarely helps the situation. Speaking of Watson, while the talking heads on television want us all to think that the former Houston Texans signal caller is headed to a team in the NFC South, J-Mac says you should keep your eye on the aforementioned Browns or a mystery team like the Philadelphia Eagles instead. When big deals like this come together, it hardly ever involves the 'obvious' names. Don't forget that. Sticking in the NFL, did you hear that Tom Brady reportedly tried to position himself as the co-owner/president of the Miami Dolphins this past offseason? Of course, you did - Jason told you about it last month! However, once that deal fell through, Brady decided he'd rather come back and play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rather than live a life outside of football.
