Description
“You can do stupid things with electricity,” says Mike Weisend. Take poorly executed electroshock therapy for example. People end up literally frying their brains. It's like being struck by lightening, and the therapeutic effects of being struck by lightening—if there any—have not been approved by the FDA. However, it's undeniable that the brain is an electrical organ, and is effected by electricity. To better understand the cause and effect of electricity in the brain, Mike has been heading up research at RioGrandeNeuroScience, and developing therapies for illnesses are from depression to dementia. “I'm a decent case study,” says Weisend. “I've zapped myself pretty frequently to test new paradigms, or electroconfigurations… or new technologies…. And… I'm doin' alright. You know.” Click play to listen to get the full scoop on non-invasive brain stimulation. As always, we hope you enjoy our content.
