Daniil Medvedev clinched the Number 1 Spot after Novak Djokovic lost in Dubai to Vesely. The Russian is due to face Rafael Nadal in the semi final at Acapulco but will go in to the tie as the world's best player for the first time. He is the 1st player since Any Roddick in 2004 to be #1 in the world. In his post match interview after becoming world number 1 he mentioned Ukraine and how he wants peace.
