Description

Factual America meets The Lone Star Plate for the second time. We are wrapping up Season 2 of Factual America, and our sister podcast The Lone Star Plate, which features interviews with famous Texans and explores compelling Texas stories, has just closed Season 3.     Two fellow Texans, hosts Matthew Sherwood and Patrick Scott Armstrong, discuss the highlights of the last season, celebrating the most challenging year of our lives, and what episodes, guests and topics left a particular impression on them. Each host has chosen three episodes to talk about and to recommend to the audience to revisit.     This is not exactly a top list. The hosts give shoutouts a lot of episodes that they enjoyed during the last season, and at the end of the episode, they introduce the teams behind both shows.    Time Stamps:00:00 - The clips from the films we discuss in this episode.  1:49 - Introduction to the episode and what we are covering.  4:10 - Overview of the last season on both Factual America and The Lone Star Plate.  15:14 - Discussing the interview with actor Reginald Ballard on The Lone Star Plate. 19:00 - A clip from the episode with Reginald Ballard.  22:50 - Discussing the Factual America episode about ‘Class Action Park.’ 30:30 - A clip from ‘Class Action Park.’  32:10 - Discussing the interview with director Catherine Hardwicke on The Lone Star Plate.  37:10 - A clip from the interview with Catherine Hardwicke.  40:10 - Discussing the Factual America interview with Anne Rapp, the director of ‘Horton Foote: The Road to Home.’ 48:03 - A clip from the trailer for ‘Horton Foote: The Road to Home.’ 49:35 - Restaurant labor shortage discussion with Ji Kang and why this episode is important for The Lone Star Plate.  56:40 - A clip from the interview with Ji Kang, the owner of Sloane’s Corner. 58:01 - Discussing the interview with writer Tim O’Brien and director Aaron Matthews on both Factual America and The Lone Star Plate.  1:06:53 - A clip from the interview with Tim O’Brien and Aaron Matthews.  1:14:20 - The journey we went through since the beginning of our podcasts.  1:22:55 - A clip from the interview with Jake and Conor Allyn, the lead actor and director of ‘No Man’s Land.’ 1:28:32 - Both podcasts’ teams introduce themselves.    Resources:  ‘Bruh Man’ Reginald Ballard on Martin and Bernie Mac Show Class Action Park: America’s Most Dangerous Amusement Park Director Catherine Hardwicke Discusses Her Movies Twilight, Lords of Dogtown and More Horton Foote: The Greatest Playwright You’ve Never Heard Of Dallas Chef Ji Kang Dishes the TRUTH About Restaurant Labor Shortage Tim O’Brien: The Final Book on the Vietnam War ‘The War and Peace of Tim O’Brien’ with Aaron Matthews and Tim O’Brien No Man’s Land: Director and Lead Actor Discuss the Film Innersound Audio Alamo Pictures Connect with Factual America: Facebook Instagram Twitter   Connect with Matthew Sherwood: Facebook LinkedIn Twitter Connect with Patrick Scott Armstrong: Instagram Facebook Email   Follow The Lone Star Plate: Facebook Twitter YouTube Instagram
