Shohei Ohtani felt stiffness in his elbow following his last start, and the Angels immediately sent him to get examined. A Grade 2 UCL sprain is what they found, and after undergoing a PRP injection and stem cell treatment procedure, Ohtani will be re-evaluated in 3 weeks. While Billy Eppler and the Angels are hopeful that their prized right-hander will not need Tommy John surgery, the news does not bode well for Ohtani to pitch again this season.
