Description

Michael Simkins is an actor and writer who has appeared the films V for Vendetta, Wilde, The Iron Lady with Meryl Streep as well as Mike Leigh's Topsy-Turvy. He has appeared in more than 100 plays and musicals, at places like the National Theatre and the RSC as well as on the fringe and the West End. He’s been in the musicals Chicago and Mamma Mia and he’s made countless TV appearances including This is Going to Hurt, Finding Alice, Silent Witness, The Crown, Endeavour, Harlots, Grantchester, Eastenders, Lewis, The Bill, Casualty, New Tricks, Judge John Deed, Green Wing, Brookside, My Family, Foyle’s War and A Touch Of Frost, among many others. His first book, his memoir of breaking into the acting profession, has become required reading for drama students everywhere. He is also the author of Fatty Batter, Detour de France and The Last Flannelled Fool as well as a travel writer for many national newspapers.
