Eric Lauer pitched great against the best team in baseball, but his line was overshadowed by Tony Gonsolin's dominant performance over the Brewers in a 2-1 Dodgers win on Wednesday night. Lauer completed seven innings again but only allowed a pair of solo home runs for the only scoring of the game for the Dodgers, but it was all they needed as Gonsolin's seven shutout innings carried LA to the win.
The Brewers offense had trouble solving Gonsolin's splitter all night as he collected eight strikeouts in his MLB-leading 15th win of the season. The only "big" hit came off the bat of Christian Yelich after Gonsolin had exited. The Crew also had two men aboard in the ninth vs Craig Kimbrel but ultimately couldn't scrape anything across.
