The Brewers were down to their final three outs on Thursday returning home from a grueling road trip and preparing to face one of the NL's best closers. Jace Peterson and Andrew McCutchen said "hold my beer." The Crew did not record an out in the final frame of the game with an epic four-run comeback to shock the Padres in game one of the series 5-4.
Peterson delivered the three-run, game-tying triple that was just a yard or two away from ending the game with an ultimate grand slam. He settled for a triple and set the stage for McCutchen to break out of his 0-for-32 slump with a clean single through a drawn-in infield to claim the second walk-off victory of the season.
Now we prepare for another ace-off: Corbin Burnes vs Joe Musgrove on Friday night. The two current front-runners as National League Cy Young will square off in a battle of two of the best young righties in the game today.
