Description
On this episode of Plus One Eric talks to reggae great Ziggy Marley, whose album “More Family Time” dropped on September 18th. It’s a follow up to Ziggy’s 2009 “Family Time” record which was inspired by his daughter Judah, and the new release features tracks with Ben Harper, Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette and many more. Here Ziggy describes hearing the first homespun versions of songs like “Could You Be Loved” and “Redemption Song”, as well as joining his dad on stage along with his brother Stephen at the One Love concert 40 years ago. Stephen and Ziggy had planned a series of shows in celebration of Bob Marley’s 75th birthday that were postponed until next year, and in the meantime are enjoying a lot “More Family Time”. Ziggy and Eric also discuss his philanthropic work, the struggle between conscious and commercial music, and where his name really comes from. This podcast is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.
