The Wachowski Sisters' and Tom Tykwer's 2012 adaptation of David Mitchell's 2004 novel of the same name, Cloud Atlas is a science fiction epic that blends six storylines separated by continents and centuries into the journey of a single soul/identity/consciousness. With an all-star cast all playing multiple parts, Cloud Atlas broke down the barriers between age, gender, and race, making it an audacious and justifiably controversial creative achievement.
