Songkran, which is a Thai holiday (New Years), has transformed into a world phenomenon over the years.  The majority of millennials flock in herds to some of the most "popping" (obtaining a lot of energy) areas such as Khao San Rd, Silom, and other places scattered across Bangkok to enjoy the New Years in a wet n' soak war with strangers.  However, over the past decade, Songkran has developed a bad rap, mainly because the amount of people who are killed on the road by drunk drivers.  In addition, there are lots of sexual harassments suits that are filed at police stations, women pleading that they were groped in large crowds. 

Nonetheless, aside from the imminent (things that are likely to happen), Songkran, which goes without saying, is still the most incredible celebration I've endured in my life time.
