Description

IT HAS ARRIVED! The biggest podcast to date, and I promise it will not disappoint! Mefjus stops by the podcast to promote his newest MASSIVE release, that is a masterclass in drum and bass production. “Manifest” is a beautiful and brilliantly produced album, and if this happens to be your first time checking it out, you are in for a treat. Sit back, and buckle up because we are about to take you on a journey through drum and bass for the next 80 minutes.Mefjus InterviewYour album “Manifest” just dropped after quite a long road, can you tell us more about how you approached this process and any hardships you had along the way.It was quite a long journey actually. The full story in detail can be found here: https://www.mefjus.at/news/my-manifestWhat tune of yours are you personally most proud of or attached too?I love/hate most of my songs equally, but one of the older songs I quite like is “Far too Close” Just for fun, tell us about one of your favorite basslines. There’s many great baselines. I’d say the square bass in Mr Oizo’s Flat BeatWhat is your favorite synth for bass right now, and why do you prefer it?Xfer – Serum. I like it because the interface is super nice and it’s not a CPU hog. Great synth!“Manifest” seems to take what we know from you and blends it with some unexpected (and awesome) suprises. In a time where some feel Neurofunk may be losing some of its innovation, are you trying to break the current cycle of Neurofunk trends, or are you more just concentrating on pushing your own boundaries?I don’t think this is a Neurofunk record. And I don’t consider myself to make exclusively Neurofunk. I just wanted to make a record that approaches everything I love about drum and bass, from a studio perspective but also in terms of what I want to play out.Where do you see your career leading you in the coming year? Have you thought about sound design outside of the Drum and Bass realm?I am working on various projects but it’s too soon to tell at this point.Where do you see / hope to see the sound of Drum and Bass evolving too in the next few years.I really hope people stop pigeon-holing artists. It’s all about the shared love for the music and not about who makes what genre or not. In terms of the sound i think it will progress as it always has. What is one tip you would like to give to aspiring Drum and Bass producers?Try to have fun in the studio and everything else will fall into place naturallyWell thanks for stopping by, make sure to check out the INSANE mix by Mefjus on this weeks podcast if you havent yet, and leave a review on the podcast to tell us what you thought! Also, the latest Abducted LTD release has arrived this week, check it out at the links below!Ephyum – Mystics // AncestralBuy Direct on Bandcamp – http://bit.ly/ALTD065BandcampBeatport – http://bit.ly/ALTD065iTunes – http://bit.ly/ALTD065iTunesSpotify – http://bit.ly/ALTD065SpotifyPodcast now available also on these platforms: Google Play | iHeartRadio | Tunein| StitcherBad Syntax TracklistEphyum – Mystics [Abducted LTD – OUT NOW!]Redpill – Hazardous [Blackout]Mindscape – Meltdown [Eatbrain]The Prophecy & Kodin – Agastopia (Abis RMX) [Red Light]Tobax – The Reaper [Kill Tomorrow]Jahe – Prime Evil [Abducted LTD]Holotrope – Fight [Hoofbeats]Agressor Bunx & L 33 – Slammer [Eatbrain]Toronto is Broken – I Am [Viper]Current Value – Kalidescope [C4C]Jahe – Stepback [Abducted LTD]Agressor Bunx – Intension [Eatbrain]Holotrope – Izotope [Hoofbeats]Rido – Roll the Drums [Blackout]James Marvel – Antiks Theme [Lifestyle]Dose – Birth by Design [Abducted LTD]Redpill – Get on It [Blackout]S9 – Give ita Crack [Titan]Mindscape – Burner [Eatbrain]Cyantific ft DC Breaks – More Than Human [Viper]DC Breaks ft Nuklear – Dead or Alive (Jahe RMX) [dub]Bad Syntax & Pish Posh – Dark Planet [Abducted LTD]The Prophecy – Dead Frog (Maztek RMX) [Red Light]Toronto is Broken – What You Do With What You Have [Viper]Agressor Bunx & Kryptomedic – Hard Metal [Eatbrain]Prolix – Slob [Blackout]
