Description

Fr. Peter Armenio, priest of Opus Dei, reflects on Jesus’s gentle and loving invitation, ‘Come to me,’ and how we are to translate what it means for each of us personally.“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light” (Matthew 11:28-30).Often Jesus’s invitation is a gentle command to spend some quiet time with him in mental prayer. Jesus desires, as Fr. Peter explains, “that you open up your heart, vent, complain, unburden yourself, and tell him about your suffering. Because then our cross becomes his cross.” And, “God only gives us the grace to bear the crosses of the present moment. Jesus says ‘my yoke is easy and burden light…,’ not yours, but mine. Because it becomes mine, you participate in it, you share it.”Support the show (https://stjosemaria.org/give/)
