Description

Welcome to Season 4! My guest this week is the incredible guitarist Robben Ford. I first got into Robben's music in the 90's when he was rockin' out with his trio The Blue Line. He made a string of cool records around that time, but as I dug a bit more into his past, it wasn't hard to find that he had already toured and recorded with Tom Scott, Joni Mitchell, George Harrison and Miles Davis. (This is the first Miles sideman we’ve had on the show too!) Robben continues to make great guitar records, and after his move to Nashville a couple of years back, has found new players to record and collaborate with. We got to talk about all of his current and past projects including his latest album "Purple House", lots of the great sessions and tours, his Dumble amps, and how he spent 2 months getting a guitar tone! It was a blast having him in the studio, and I hope you enjoy the conversation.

In the name of keeping us all entertained with musical nerdiness, the show now goes into weekly mode with episodes coming every Wednesday for a while. I'm also inviting listeners to call in and leave a message with how the pandemic is affecting your life as a music person, what you're up to in your quarantine, and to give us all a musical recommendation of some sort. Leave a message at 615-375-6318 and I'll try and include it in an upcoming show. Each episode will feature a message or two from one of our listeners at the beginning. Don’t forget to subscribe to the show, and please leave a review at Apple Podcasts.
