Description
This week, on the interview edition of The Flagship Podcast, we talk to Longhorn observationalist and body language-ologist Mike Hardge, who used to be Chip Brown's co-host on AM 1300 The Zone's morning show "The Bottom Line" (until they disappeared from the air last November, following a nationwide layoff by iHeart Radio).
Hardge, a 13-year pro baseball player and second-round pick of the Montreal Expos in 1990, talks about Texas football, basketball and baseball in a lively discussion you won't want to miss.
Hardge talks about the surprise he experienced when he first heard Steve Sarkisian was named as Tom Herman's replacement and how Sark has helped win Hardge over.
We talk about what Hardge is most looking forward to when spring football starts on March 23 (with the spring game on April 24), including the one player on offense and the one player on defense Hardge is most excited to see.
Also, we talk to Hardge about "reasonable expectations" for Texas football under Sark in Year 1 - if such a thing as reasonable expectations exist in Longhorn Nation!!
Hardge is a former AAU basketball coach who coached Royce O'Neale of the Utah Jazz back in the day, so we get Hardge's thoughts on how far the Longhorns have to go in March for Hardge to feel good about Shaka Smart returning as coach.
You won't want to miss that discussion.
Of course, we had to get Hardge's thoughts on Texas baseball - specifically what impresses Hardge about David Pierce's team as well as Hardge's concerns.
Catch all of that and much more on this week’s interview edition of The Flagship Podcast.
