Today, we’re doing our best to cut out any sensationalism or politics about the sometimes-very-controversial topics of gun violence and gun laws, and even how or if mental illness plays a role. Instead, we’re focusing on what the data shows about all of it, like who is really most at risk of getting hurt and the actions that may actually keep people safer. First up, I’m speaking with researcher and practicing emergency physician Dr. Megan Ranney. She’s the co-founder of a nonprofit bringing together medical and public health experts focused on responsible gun stewardship and reducing the rate of firearm injuries and deaths.
