One of Charles Dickens's own favorite characters, the story of young David is a coming-of-age tale with lovable (and hate-able) characters that influence his life in becoming an aspiring author. This movie came to be out of producer David O. Selznick's love and devotion to his own father...and much to the opposition of his father-in-law (who was head of the studio)!
