Description
We have a big announcement this week in an episode we're calling The Pantheon of Rock! In the nearly ten year history of Decibel Geek, we've been approached by several podcasting networks. While the offers were tempting, we've always shied away. However, we recently were approached by the Pantheon Podcast Network and, after a productive conference call and the possibilities of growing the show and offering more to our listeners, we've accepted their invite. This week Pantheon Podcast Network founders Christian Swain and Peter Ferioli join us to talk about Decibel Geek joining the network. Additionally, you'll hear more about the network and the great collection of music podcasts that are a part of it including our friends at Rock and/or Roll, The Hustle, Should It Out Loudcast, and many more. The network also has great shows by rock author Martin Popoff and the legendary Pamela DesBarres among many others. Christian and Peter also share some entertaining stories of their musical background including concert memories. Our involvement with Pantheon will not a change a thing for the Decibel Geek listeners. We still have free reign to do the show that we want to do and we look forward to working with them in the future to improve your experience as well as to interact with the other shows on the network. Episode 5-1 - Vinnie Vincent Special Part 1: I think Hell has officially frozen over! This episode is a long time coming and I hope it will inform people that have always wondered "What the hell happened to Vinnie Vincent?" The show begins with a quick recap of how I had the seedling of an idea of finding out what happened to Vinnie Vincent and turning it into a writing project. What began as a quick idea that would make an interesting magazine article snowballed when I received so much information from so many angles that I began to entertain thoughts of turning the story into a book.......then, I got realistic. A book at this point in time about a recluse guitarist who's 15 minutes of fame ended in the 1980's just wasn't practical; no matter how much I loved his music, songwriting, and intriguing story. I launched the Decibel Geek podcast when I remembered how much fun it was to interview some of the people that I grew up listening to and artists of today that I dig.
