Description
Yorkshire CCC's Academy director Ian Dews joins the Badger, James Buttler, to chat about whether England's Cricket World Cup success will bring new young players into the game.
They also chat about the most famous Yorkshire Academy in the country. With a production line that includes plenty of England players, including Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and Adil Rashid, it keeps on delivering quality. What makes it work, what do they coaches look for and how hard is it to let youngsters go?
Also on the Podcast this week, James chats to Mark Boyns of Opening Up Cricket. With mental health a hot topic in the game, Mark and his team travel around cricket clubs.
It's an interesting chat about Opening Up Cricket, who state: "Everybody has mental health and we can all do things to look after and improve it. Unfortunately the conversation on the topic seems to stall around one end of the scale, focusing almost exclusively on illness. We are committed to promoting positive mental health so that people can flourish and thrive as well as being more aware of declines to get help proactively."
