Description
As we get into adulthood services, there are a variety of options and services that an adult with IDD can opt into. One of those options is day habilitation programming. In this episode, I chat with Joe Spreitzer, the founder of ABLE Adults, a day program located in Stirling, New Jersey. Joe is a former special education teacher who saw a tremendous need for programming for adults with disabilities in his community after working in the schools and with other services. We get into Medicaid service definitions, what the day-to-day programming looks like, and how it's important to promote opportunities for learning - - learning doesn't stop in adulthood!
