Some days there are not many things to talk about in Blue Jays land. This is not one of those days.
In a rare weekend appearance due to yesterday's absence, host Ryan Andrews discusses the Josh Donaldson trade and the implication of what it means for all parties involved. Andrews discusses reports that the split of the Bringer of Rain and the Blue Jays was a long time coming, and a report from the Toronto Sun's Rob Longley increases the belief that Donaldson did more than his part to hasten this split.
The second segment sees Andrews addressing the Blue Jays front office and the missteps it has made, ranking it alongside the Kendrys Morales contract and the constant masking and deception used to protect their assets. The Nova Scotian also addresses the fan base that is looking to abandon the club, noting that there have been other instances that would have been worth leaving the club for. In addition, Andrews admits Donaldson was going to be as much as part of the future as Curtis Granderson, and briefly discusses his departure as well.
In the final segment, Andrews discusses the Granderson trade further and does their best to pronounce Demi Orimoloye's last name. The host also praises Justin Smoak and his pinch-hit grand slam that delivered the lone Blue Jays bright spot on a night where the team really needed it. Aaron Sanchez is let off the hook because of Smoak's heroics, and Sanchez is not mentioned in today's show.
