With a 5-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates last night, the St. Louis Cardinals are 22-24 and on the outside looking in to the postseason. Steven Brault of the Pirates went the distance, only allowing 2 hits to the Cardinal offense. If the Cardinals want to make the postseason, the offense needs to start hitting more consistently. The two teams play a doubleheader today, and Carlos Martinez has an opportunity to show us that he's matured by playing the "stopper" role for the Cardinals.
