The death penalty is one of the most hotly debated topics amongst people. It sparks major controversy and many an argument. One of these arguments that often gets brought up, is the use of an execution paid for by the state being used as assisted suicide. On October 10th 1954 a man named Newton Carlton Slawson was born. He would go on to commit a crime that he was tried and put to death for. And his lack of appeal and fight for stay of execution sparked the argument of assisted suicide amongst Florida lawmakers.
