A new beginning for Yair Rodriguez, perhaps a sad end for BJ Penn and another weekly episode of the Co-Main Event Podcast. With Rodriguez’s second-round TKO over Penn still fresh in the minds from Sunday night, Ben and Chad spend a couple of rounds on this week’s show discussing each guy. Rodriguez seems like he has all the potential in the world, but is he also a fellow UFC matchmakers might have to protect a bit as they build his legacy? Penn, meanwhile, finds himself likely at the end of the road in the UFC. Your dudes both agree it wouldn’t be bad at all to see him walk away after a legendary career, but both admit now somebody has to go convince BJ of the same thing. In addition to that fight, this week’s CME looks at Saturday night’s Bellator 170 main event between Chael Sonnen and Tito Ortiz and wonders, “What was Chael thinking when he saw Tito smash that juice box?”
