Description
On Episode #159 the boys are joined by former NHLer and current spokesperson for violence and abuse prevention, Sheldon Kennedy. This sadly relevant topic isn't a new one and Sheldon knows that all too well as he was sexually abused by his former junior coach Graham Jones when he was just a teenager. This extremely tough but necessary conversation with Sheldon helps shed light on how these horrific acts are as big a problem as ever in hockey and society as a whole. He gives his take on the Kyle Beach situation as well as what he feels the NHL needs to do moving forward and how parents might approach this topic with their kids. Sheldon continues his advocacy today with Canadian Red Cross by sharing his story and helping those in similar situations, as well as educating coaches and athletes alike on sexual and physical abuse.
