Description
Marc Savard has been through a lot. The good news is he’s also overcome a lot and today finds himself in a good spot. Meaning he’s happy and is able to reflect on all he accomplished as both an OHL superstar and an NHL All-Star. He entered the league playing with his idol Wayne Gretzky before dealing with a rough coaching situation in Calgary. His career took off in Atlanta where he teamed up with some of the best talents to ever play. He eventually landed in Boston which led to some great times and also some dark ones. Becoming a household name in a crazed sports market like Boston will make anyone feel on top of the world. Things changed following a blindside hit, courtesy of Matt Cooke. He talks about hitting rock bottom and the ultimate bounce back after his incredible overtime goal against Philadelphia. After diving into coaching he’s now back to focusing on his family full time. Most importantly he’s in a good spot mentally. One of the sickest playmakers of his era, Marc Savard tells his story on this edition of the Cam and Strick Podcast.
