This will definitely go down as one of the best episodes ever on the Cam and Strick Podcast. Where do we start with Sheldon Souray? He has an amazing story that almost didn't happen. After showing up out of shape for his first-ever NHL training camp, New Jersey GM and previous guest Lou Lamoriello sent him to Albany to chill in a hotel by himself. He went as far as to tell him if he ever did it again he'd never play in the NHL. Souray left crying as he drove away but eventually recovered. After a trade to Montreal Souray and his 100-plus MPH slapshot would become one of the top offensive defensemen in the league. The three-time All-Star, known for his shot, broke records with his ability to score on the power play. A Hollywood wife and a big-time contract led him to Edmonton where he'd continue to score but also deal with serious injuries and conflict with Oilers management. Souray is also known for dating and marrying some beautiful women. He himself is blessed with good looks and he didn't waste it. He lived the life in both New Jersey/NY and Montreal. Marrying a Baywatch actress then a WWE superstar Souray became a household name outside of hockey. His life would turn after becoming addicted to painkillers. Knowing he needed help and thinking about his late father, Souray would enter rehab where he'd end up meeting his most recent Fiance, who also happens to be a model. At the end of the day, this guy is a great person who seems happy and has his life under control. Rarely will you hear Souray open up in the fashion he does in this interview. A great player, Sheldon Souray is a great dude who has a message he hopes will help others who might find themselves in a similar situation he was in just a short time ago.
