90210’s Gabrielle Carteris steps Behind The Rope. Yes, Andrea Zuckerman is here!!! Ok, ok, we DO know the difference between Gabrielle Carteris and Andrea Zuckerman. Gabrielle is here to chat about her full career and the role she is most iconically known for in 90210. Gabrielle talks about what the audition process was like, how she got the role and what it was like being on a hit Aaron Spelling teen nighttime soap. We talk what it was like to fake her age of 21 to get the job and to play a 15 year old teenager when she was 29 years old. We chat about her costars - no last names needed - Shannen, Tori, Jennie, Brian, Jason, Luke, and Ian and all those rumors from back in the day on set - the “red dress” catfight, the BTS hook ups, and, of course, Shannen Doherty and her “bad girl” reputation. We talk about Shannen’s exit, her replacement Tiffani Thiessen, guests stars such as Oscar Winner Hillary Swank, her pregnancy being written into the show, and her exit at the end of Season Five. Flash forward, and Gabrielle talks about what being the President of SAG-AFTRA (and now first American President of FIA) was like, her many celebrity run-ins / colleagues, and backstage shenanigans from the esteemed SAG Awards. As busy a job as that is, Gabrielle found herself moonlighting in 2019 when Tori and Jennie came a callin’ for the reboot, BH90210, when the entire original cast signed on to play heightened versions of themselves. Gabrielle opens up about that bittersweet reunion due to Luke Perry’s passing as well as how hard it is to watch friends go through tough times - “True Tori”, Shannen’s current health, and so on. Finally, we reflect back on 90210 and its blockbuster cultural effect that we are still, and will forever be talking about, all these years later.
