Barbara Kavovit steps Behind The Rope. Ok, you can call her Barbara K., as she is best known from her time on The Real Housewives of New York City. Joining us to help Barb break it all down from her time on RHONY is the first ever Behind The Velvet Rope Co-Host, Ms. Elyse Slaine. Elyse has appeared on Behind The Velvet Rope so many times at this point, we figured it was only appropriate to bestow upon her the much sought after coveted Co-Host title. It’s a RHONY “Friend Of” Extravaganza!! Taking her Co-Host duties very seriously, Elyse helps us chat with Barb about her upbringing as “Barbie from the Bronx” where her love of construction began, what it was like “back in the day” as a woman to enter a male dominated field, being hired to demolish Harvey Weinstein’s old office, her run for Mayor of NYC, and future political aspirations. We then turn the tables and chat with both Elyse and Barbara about the origins of their friendship, their respective experiences on RHONY, the ups and downs with various cast members such as Dorinda, Ramona, Luann, Bethenny and Sonja, and the status of each of those relationships today. We also chat with Elyse about her friendship with current “Friend Of” Bershan Shaw, contemplate Bershan’s likelihood of returning as this current season of RHONY chugs along and discuss the epic night in The Hamptons Barb recently had with Eboni K.
