New York Mets General Manager Billy Eppler was active on the trade market this weekend, as he nearly made a trade that would have sent Dom Smith to the San Diego Padres for a package that included starting pitcher Chris Paddack and first baseman Eric Hosmer.
Luckily, the Mets decided against making this trade, and host Ryan Finkelstein breaks down exactly why this would have been a bad deal for the Mets. He also discusses whether it makes sense for the Mets to continue to shop Smith for starting pitcher depth.
