Dr Caitlyn Olson is a Departmental Lecturer in Islamic History at Oxford.  She earned her PhD from Harvard in 2020 and held a postdoctoral fellowship at NYU Abu Dhabi in 2020-21. Her research centres on the  Maghrib and, increasingly, West Africa during the 15th-18th centuries, in particular on theological thought,  education, and relations among scholars and broader society.Bio: Caitlyn  Olson is a Departmental Lecturer in Islamic History at Oxford.
