    Alexander Lee is a specialist in the cultural and political history of the Renaissance in Italy. He is the author of multiple books including Humanism and Empire, The Ugly Renaissance and Petrarch and St. Augustine: Classical Scholarship, Christian Theology and the Origins of the Renaissance in Italy. In this episode we discuss his latest book Machiavelli: His Life and Times, alongside discussions about Renaissance Italy, Machiavellian politics and the philosophy of Lucretius.
