Description

??? Designing Hollywood Podcast The Queen's Gambit Award Winning Costume Designer Gabriele Binder joins Designing Hollywood Podcast tomorrow for an all new episode with your host Robert Meyer Burnett ????????? #TheQueensGambit reflect the growing sophistication and self-control of the main character, fictional 1960s chess champion #BethHarmon, often incorporating structural lines and black-and-white patterns, materializing elements of the game into her wardrobe. Clothes are a wonderful way of exhibiting history. What’s fascinating about watching Beth grow up is that she puts on all of these different characters. She's dressing up like different personas throughout the course of the show,” says #AnyaTaylorJoy. Sometimes wardrobe is literally tethered to storyline: Beth’s overcoat and hat in Moscow, for example, recall the white Queen. For her hair and makeup, the touchstone was Natalie Wood. All of it working back from a unifying palette thanks to German production designer Uli Hanisch (of the gorgeous Babylon Berlin). @THE BURNETTWORK @The Costume Designers Guild @ExtremeCostumes Produced by Martika lbarra Follow Host Robert Meyer Burnett @THE BURNETTWORK ????? ♛THE QUEEN’S GAMBIT #WalterTevis #ScottFrank ?PD #UliHanisch Costumes #GabrieleBinder ADs #DanielChour #ThorstenKlein #SetDec #IngeborgHeinemann MUA #DanielParker ? #TheQueensGambit on #Netflix Sponsored By United American Costume Co.     SHOW LESS
