However, just hours after Marjorie was seen waiting for the bus in Denver, she was found with her son alongside a dirt road in rural Colorado — she had been shot in the head. For nearly 50 years, detectives in Colorado have been trying to solve her murder. Theories surrounding her gruesome and mysterious death range from a possible serial killer to drug conspiracies, but no leads have ever panned out.
