Like many kids, he was picked on and bullied in school severely damaging his self-confidence. Amazingly Alex managed to overcome his confidence issues when he discovered a new world of adventure and the feeling of accomplishment. At just 18 years old, he made his first attempt to summit Mt Everest. His story of being turned around by an avalanche in 2014 only to return in 2015 and be caught in the deadliest Everest avalanche on record is one of astonishment and caution.
