Description

Boeing’s back to back 737 MAX 8 crashes have become a nightmare. First there was the Lion Air crash last October that killed 189, then just this week another crash in Ethiopia killed 157.  Various countries and airlines have grounded the 737 MAX planes and there are growing calls for the FAA and the US to do the same.  While we won’t know what caused the crash in Ethiopia for months, Boeing is already making adjustments after the Lion Air crash by issuing a software update. Andrew Freedman, science editor at Axios, joins us to break down everything we know about these two crashes,

Next, Operation Varsity Blues. Federal prosecutors have charged dozens of wealthy parents including two Hollywood actresses with bribing college coaches and SAT testing administrators to get students admitted to elite colleges under false pretenses.  The man behind it all is William Singer who owned Edge College & Career Network.  In all 50 people are charged with over 30 parents funneling at least $25 million to Singer. My producer Miranda joins us for all the details and how the scheme worked, including details on actress Lori Loughlin’s daughter, Olivia Jade, who was admitted to USC under this scheme and is already making money off the whole thing.
