A Jewish tailor named Savas escaped the Nazis when they invaded Corfu, along with his three daughters and another girl, and fled to the island of Erikoussa. The entire island of Erikoussa joined forces, at the risk of death, to provide refuge and to protect the secret of their identity from the Nazis.
