Description

I speak with Guillermo Ortuno, a Ph.D. student at Duke University, to find out how meetings at the United Nations work to better manage the high seas by making existing agreements better.  Guillermo wrote a paper with some colleagues about how there are more than 4000 fish species that are not managed under the current agreements because they are not designated as commercially important.  We talk about the difference between a policy brief and a peer-reviewed paper and its effectiveness.  Do you think there are better ways of getting science into the UN meetings?
